The perfect storage containers
I have a confession to make: I have a mild obsession with finding creative ways to reuse boxes and containers in general.
For example, there's the more straightforward reuse containers, like looking in a second-hand shop for something nice to grow your flowers.
Chipped-spout tea pot? Sure. Why not.
Then there's something that required a bit more planning, which is my "inbox" that I use for mail I receive and need to respond to (there's a lot more, but I took things out so that you can see the container). It's made of a top and bottom cover my mobile phone came in, several phones ago. I glued the two lids together and then used washi tape (Cavallini Press) all the way around to cover and decorate. I love when I can create something useful from old boxes!!
A very cheerful inbox
Sometimes I cheat, though.
For months (if not years), I've been keeping an eye out for something I could use to hold my ATC coins. When we were working on coins in the Vintage & Collage Club a couple months ago, my artsy friend Kathy R. suggested round candy tins, like these Retro Sour candies. I feel like it's cheating because I bought the product just for the packaging and didn't even eat the candy (too sour)!
This is such a cute tin!
Ok, but what about ATCs?
Recently I put out this short online $16 class focused on creating Artist Trading Cards (ATCs). We start by building a masterboard, and when you're done, you'll have created 16 individual cards that look fabulous as a little collection.
But how should I store them? Have you got any creative suggestions? Let me know in the comments. I'm looking for inspiration 😉.
By the way...
This class is automatically available to members in my Vintage & Collage Club. We have a classroom section in our online clubhouse with this class, and also an 8-lesson course on Collage Art Basics. There's video lessons and loads of free printables to use along with creating your work. Yes, lots of enjoyable practice for improving your skills.
If you're interested in joining the membership instead, you get access to this ATC class for free, along with the Collage Art Basics course. This month in June, our project is zines. We're going to be exchanging with up to 8 people, so it's a good time to join if you are interested in swapping.
