In this April 2020 edition of Art Journaling, I have an article published. I show and talk about a junk journal/glue book I created called “Valuable Papers”.
I found an old folder at a garage sale that held envelopes for “valuable papers”. I decided I wanted to repurpose the folder into something like a journal or gluebook. I used the envelopes as pages where I collaged with my interpretation of important and valuable papers.
I used a digital kit called “Gentlemen and Scholars” from Ephemera’s Vintage Garden to help me create something with a bit more weight and prominence. I also used a lot of paper currency and other vintage papers.
It was such a fun experience submitting and going through the publishing process! The editor for the magazine was lovely to work with and even encouraged me to submit again. I think I actually will… .
This is very exciting for you! Congratulations. Do you know where we can purchase a copy of the Art Journal magazine (especially now that stores are closed!)? Would love to read your piece.
Thanks so much, Lucy! 🙂 Here’s the link for the magazine if you’d like to get a copy for yourself: https://stampington.com/Art-Journaling-Spring-2020/
This is fantastic. Congratulations!
